The Sunshine Coast has some fantastic golf courses, but there are still some that stand out, offering championship quality, pristine maintenance, and stunning scenery. So, we’ve put together a list of the best Sunshine Coast golf courses so that you can plan your next trip.

Bribie Island

Although some consider it to not be technically part of the Sunshine Coast, with its easy access from Caloundra and its ranking as the best course in Queensland, Bribie Island Golf Course must be included in this list. This course is a hidden treasure, built on natural sand dunes, offering all golfers a test of their skills. This is an 18 hole, par 72 championship course is open to the public, and also offers superb entertainment and dining in the clubhouse for a complete golfing experience.

Hyatt Regency Coolum

The Hyatt Regency Coolum is the home to the Australian PGA Championship, making this resort course a must for any serious golfer. The course was designed by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr and is ranked in the top 50 list of Australian Golf Courses. The club has an 18 hole, par 72 course, and an extensive range of facilities with the latest in golf tuition, so you can brush up your skills and enjoy a fantastic course.

Maleny

The Maleny Golf Club is not only award-winning but offers superb tranquillity. The natural environment of the course is bounded by the Obi Obi Creek and has a stunningly picturesque setting. This public course is often overlooked, but it is certainly one of the best in the area.

Noosa Springs

This championship, 18 hole, par 72 course has been carefully designed to make the most of Lake Weyba and Noosa National Park. This has created an undulating course that meanders through forests, native trees, and beautiful lakes. Whether you’re a social golfer or serious sportsperson, there is something for everything, with challenging conditions and a stunning backdrop. If you want to stay close by, there is a beautiful resort in the area, so you can make the most of your time during your stay.

Noosa Valley

The Noosa Valley Country Club has been called “a golfing gem” by Australian Golf Digest. This beautiful course was the first course to be accepted into the ABC Open Garden Scheme. Noosa Valley has a reputation within the local community for its immaculate maintenance and beautiful scenery. Whether you want to tackle the par 72 course or simply enjoy the gardens, you’re sure of a good day.

Mount Coolum

As its name suggests, this golf club is nestled beneath Mount Coolum, providing a breathtaking backdrop as you cover this 18 hole, par 72 course. This is a relatively flat course and has water play for 12 of the holes. It is well regarded as one of the most popular and picturesque courses on the Sunshine Coast. The clubhouse is in an original Queenslander, yet offers all the facilities you may need, including conference rooms, bar, showers, and pokies.

Twin Waters

Twin Waters Golf Club is ranked as one of the top six courses in the country and was designed by Peter Thomson, five times British Open champion and partner Mike Wolveridge. The 18 hole, par 72 course has a challenging layout and superb setting to provide an enjoyable game for the golfer at any playing level.

Pacific Harbour

The Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club employed environmentally friendly practices to construct this course to preserve the Bribie Island location. The course was designed by Ross Watson and employs a traditional Scottish links-style, so every hole is visually distinctive.

The course uses multiple tee sets to provide a challenge for all levels of golfers. The club also has a full gymnasium, locker rooms, sauna, spa, private fitness room, massage room, barbecue facilities, tennis courts, children’s play area, resort-style pool, and 250-metre aquatic driving range.

Pelican Waters

This Greg Norman-designed course is set in the stunning Golden Beach setting and is ranked among the best courses in the world and the top 100 courses in Australia. This 18 hole, par 72 course also has some of the finest practise facilities in the country and a premium clubhouse. There is a practice putting chipping greens, a well-equipped golf shop, and an impressive driving range that is all open to the public.

 
 
Noosa Springs Country Club

Noosa Springs Country Club is an 18-hole, par 72 jewel of a course set within the beautiful Noose National Park and Lake Weyba. You’ll play your way around forests and lakes that drift in and out of view. The popular resort of Noosa is just down the road if you want to combine golf with walking trails, shopping and fine dining.

 
Noosa Valley Country Club

For gardening buffs, 18-hole, par 72  Noosa Valley Country Club has the most spectacular gardens and was the first course to be accepted into Australia’s Open Garden Scheme. A unique boutique golf course described by Australian Golf Digest Magazine as “A golfing gem, a simply beautiful golf  course”

 
Maleny Golf Club

Maleny Golf Club is a set in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland, operating in a nature-rich setting bounded by the Obi Obi Creek. Each of the 18-holes is maintained to a very high standard and each presents their own challenge with long grass, revetted bunkers and boundaries of wetlands and another natural wildlife habitat.

 
The Hyatt Regency Coolum

The Hyatt Regency Coolum hosts the Australian PGA Championship so you can expect all the golfing trimmings: a challenging, professionally-designed course, practice facilities, golf tuition and extremely relaxing 19th hole. It’s also perched right on 2km of beach for that perfect post-match dip.

Set in the amazing landscape of Golden Beach, Pelican Waters Golf Club has a Greg Norman-designed 18-hole, par 72 course and an array of exceptional practice facilities, including a superb driving range, and series of practice putting and chipping greens. Twin Waters Golf Club

Twin Waters Golf Club is in the top six courses in the whole of Australia and you can see why.
